Arrests by UIC Police

Sept. 22: A man was arrested for unlawful possession of a handgun at 9:40 p.m. at 1314 W. Hastings St.

Sept. 23: A woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant at 10:01 p.m. at 2010 W. Harrison St.

A woman was arrested for criminal damage to property at 11:01 a.m. at 845 W. Taylor St.

 

Man arrested for 2013 thefts

UIC Police detectives arrested and charged a man for thefts Thursday that occurred Oct. 26 and Dec. 21, 2013, at the Student Recreation Facility. The first theft was from a locker; the second, a book bag, from the gym. The suspect was identified by recreational staff and video footage from a security camera. He was charged with two counts of theft under $500.

 

Student charged in SES vandalism

A UIC student was arrested for turning on emergency showers in science labs Sept. 23, causing more than $25,000 in damages, police said. The student admitted pulling four shower handles on the first and third floors of Science and Engineering South between 4 and 5:30 a.m. She later told a witness about a YouTube video she’d posted of similar vandalism Sept. 16, police said. She was charged with criminal damage to property.
