WHAT:

Chancellor Paula Allen-Meares of the University of Illinois at Chicago will join community representatives to announce a West Side site added to UIC’s bid for the Obama Presidential Library.

DETAILS:

Allen-Meares will comment on UIC’s bid for the library and introduce community partners on the proposal’s new third site. Invited guests include Gov. Pat Quinn; Congressman Danny K. Davis; State Sen. Patricia Van Pelt, State Rep. Arthur L. Turner Jr., Cook County Commissioner Robert Steele; Michael Pagano, dean, UIC College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs; Dr. Robert Winn, UI Health associate vice president for community-based practice; community stakeholders; and students from Learn Charter School.

UIC will submit its response to the Barack Obama Foundation’s request for qualifications on Monday — in Chicago, and in Washington by a group of traveling UIC students.

UIC’s complete submission will be on a public website by the end of the day Monday.
