Facebook Experiment: The public revelation that Facebook manipulated random users’ news feeds to change the number of positive and negative posts is more surprising than the practice, according to Steve Jones, UIC distinguished professor of communication. Jones says political campaigns and large companies often run ongoing message and search engine optimization on their websites to make changes and drive customer response.
