The men’s basketball team welcomes 6-foot-8 forward David Ramon, a native of Madrid, Spain, to the roster this fall.

“We are thrilled to have David join the Flames,” said head coach Howard Moore.

“He has an intelligent basketball mind and is a tremendous shooter, especially from the outside.  I am very pleased with how our newcomer class is coming together.”

Ramon is highly regarded as a superior long-range shooter, having shot 48 percent from behind the arc in the 2013 Spain National U18 Championship League.

Two years earlier, Ramon picked up MVP honors during the Madrid Regional U16 Championship as he led his squad to a tournament title and posted 23 points and 12 rebounds in the final.

Aside from excelling on the court, Ramon was recently awarded an honors diploma from the Madrid Regional Government as he averaged 9.7 on a 10.0 scale.
