TechTeach conference

Share ideas for shaping learning with technology in teaching as a presenter for the 2016 TechTeach Conference.

Proposals are due Sept. 16.

Presenters can discuss topic such as using digital content, collaborating inside and outside the classroom, using engagement strategies and more.

The Nov. 15 conference will bring together faculty, staff and IT professionals who will demonstrate innovative techniques and tools along with the most effective use of technology in teaching and learning.

Registration will open in the fall.

Updating direct deposit

Employees now must make any changes to their direct deposit information from a computer on a campus network.

Changes will not be allowed from an outside network, including Virtual Private Network (VPN) connections.

The new policy was put in place because of an increased risk of phishing attacks on University of Illinois employees.  The university is working toward a more convenient solution for updating direct deposit information in NESSIE, which is expected to be implemented this fall.

All changes should be made in NESSIE.

Applications will be accepted through Sept. 9 for service leader positions with Student Leadership Development & Volunteer Services.

Service leaders take on responsibilities for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Service Day and the 8th Annual UIC Day of Service. Leaders will also assist with Speaking of Service (S.O.S.) and Get Involved in Volunteer Experiences (G.I.V.E.).

All UIC students can apply online.
