PARTICIPATE IN A MIRACLE

Make the holidays brighter for children and families in the UIC neighborhood by donating items for the UI Hospital’s Miracle on Taylor Street.

To participate, email miracle2@uic.edu with contact information and the number of children or size of the family you’d like to sponsor. Then bring wrapped and labeled gifts to 1130 UI Hospital Dec. 15, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Recommended gifts include educational toys, books, board games, school supplies, hats, gloves and gift cards.

The families are served by neighborhood community organizations, including A Safe Haven, Chinese American Service League, Missionaries of Charity, Mujeres Latinas en Acción, Neopolitan Lighthouse, New Hope Program and Teresa’s Interim Housing.

 

STUDY ALL NIGHT

Join the crowd at the Daley Library this week, open 24/7 through 7 p.m. Dec. 11. Only patrons with i-cards may enter the building from 9 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

The Library of the Health Sciences will have extended hours Dec. 6–Dec. 17:

Sundays, 9 a.m.–2 a.m.

Mondays–Thursdays, 7 a.m.–2 a.m.

Fridays , 7 a.m.–midnight

Saturdays, 9 a.m.–midnight

 

LEARN ABOUT CTA BONDS

A seminar on “CTA’s Sales Tax Bonds: An Analytical Approach,” will be at noon Dec. 3 in 110 CUPPA Hall. Ted Hampton, vice president and senior credit officer at Moody’s Investors Service, will speak.
