10th anniversary of Oaxaca study abroad program

Join the University of Illinois Chicago community for an evening celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Oaxaca study abroad program. This special gathering will bring together alumni, faculty, students and friends to recognize a decade of immersive learning, cultural exchange and lasting connections formed through the program.

The evening will feature a keynote address by acclaimed chef and restaurateur Rick Bayless, whose work has helped introduce generations of Americans to the depth and richness of Mexican cuisine and culture.

This program is funded by the UIC Heritage Spanish Linguistics and Study Abroad Fund. Additional remarks will be offered by College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean Lisa A. Freeman, along with a special presentation by Kim Potowski featuring reflections from Oaxaca study abroad alumni. Guests are invited to reconnect with their cohort, faculty mentors and fellow alumni while celebrating this milestone anniversary.

The evening will include drinks, small bites and time for conversation and community building. A complimentary parking voucher is included with your ticket for the Halsted Street Parking Structure at 760 W. Taylor St. Celebrate a decade of shared experiences in Oaxaca and help ensure future UIC students continue to benefit from this transformative international program.
