ARTivism: The Kitchen Table – Cooking up Stories to Feed our Souls

Lily Be, storyteller and producer of The Stoop, along with Flor Azteca, a food co-operative from Telpochcalli Community Education Project (Tcep) will lead us in this bilingual (English/Spanish/Spanglish) participatory communal gathering.Come celebrate womxn as storytellers in our lives by sharing your own stories of love, resistance, and cultural identity.

Everyone will have a chance to share their story and taste handmade tortillas!

 

Lily Be is an actor, writer, director, and producer of her own one-woman shows. Over the last 10 years, she’s been an artist-in-residence and has hosted hundreds of storytelling workshops at various universities and city colleges, Second City, iO Chicago, and Hairpin. Follow her at @ladonyalilybe.

Flor Azteca is a socio-economic project dedicated to providing stability and independence to women through healthy food preparation in order to improve the welfare of their families and the community.
