The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs will host a panel of UIC researchers and community partners for its fourth core commitment: cultural humility.
As we will all need extra warmth come November and herbal medicine offers valuable tools for promoting health and preventing illness, we will partner with our friends from the Atkins Medicinal Plant Garden and the UIC Heritage Garden to make home-grown teas as we engage in dialogue together.
The goal of this session is to listen, reflect and discuss what cultural humility is. We’ll talk about why cultural humility is important, from its foundation in theoretical frameworks to its application in practice, and how we can collaborate with each other to uplift its value in real-world spaces.
