Distinguished University Professor Emerita Susan Liebman Keynote Address

Susan Weiss Liebman, distinguished university professor emerita, will be keynote speaker at the Norton and Elaine Sarnoff Center for Jewish Genetics’ Annual Awareness Event. Professor Liebman led an active yeast genetics lab in the UIC Department of Biological Sciences for 34 years. She is the author of “The Dressmaker’s Mirror: Sudden Death, Genetics, and a Jewish Family’s Secret.” The book recalls the years Liebman spent unearthing a genetic mutation in her family’s DNA after the sudden death of her niece. Since retiring, she has continued grant-funded research at the University of Nevada, Reno.
