Childhood and education are often thought of simultaneously, but notions of educational settings and learning are contextualized by region, country, and culture. This course will examine the experiences of childhood and how educational experiences are often impacted and transformed by globalization. During spring break, we will travel to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where we will visit different types of schools and cultural sites to engage in a comparative understanding of these topics

This program is open to undergraduate students from all majors.
