Recent events in the United States have demonstrated the need for school social workers and educators to address equity and race. Now is the time for us to have these difficult conversations. To change our paradigm, an introspective dialogue is needed on how best to engage in discourse on race, structural inequalities, oppression, and the invisibility of privilege. We invite you to join our expert panel of school-based professionals for a discussion about fostering racial equity school-wide as well as in your own practice.

“On some level, COVID-19 is our equity check…a wake-up call, an opportunity for us to come together to do and be better for every single child.” – Dena Simmons, EdD
