Garden Walk & Lesniewicz Memorial Lecture

The Dorothy Bradley Atkins Medicinal Plant Garden contains more than 200 species of medicinal plants, including black cohosh, purple coneflower and floxglove, whose chemical compounds are used in clinical practice around the world.

Doel Soejarto, professor of pharmacognosy and biology at UIC and a renowned plant scientist, serves as the garden’s director.

Barbara Timmermann, distinguished professor of medicinal chemistry at the University of Kansas, will be the keynote speaker at the Alan Lesniewicz Memorial Lecture, beginning at noon in room 134-2.
