This year’s Grace Holt Celebration will be held March 13th to March 14th.

On Wednesday, March 13th at 11:30 AM, the luncheon will be held in the African American Cultural Center (Addams Floor, 209). The event will feature department alums in a conversation celebrating community and the presentation of the Grace Holt Awards.

Thursday, March 14th at 3:30 PM, the Grace Holt Lecture will be held in the Hull House Resident Dining Room. Marcyliena Morgan will lead a lecture titled, “Is It Something I Said? Grace Holt on Language, Signifying and Power in Hiphop Culture.” Morgan is a Professor in the Department of African and African American Studies and the Founding Director of the Hiphop Archive and Research Institute at Harvard University. She earned both her B.A. and M.A. degrees at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
