Queer UP: Campaign Organizing 101 with UIC Pride and Young Invincibles

Date / Time

September 19, 2018

3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Please join the GSC and Troy Alim, Midwest Organizer at Young Invincibles, as we learn the basics of organizing a campaign and the basics of advocating for issue that matter to us.

Campaign Organizing 101 will provide tools on framing an important issue, developing and implementing a plan to address the issue, and identifying key targets.

Queer UP! series was created to highlight the importance of leadership development as a crucial component for representation and inclusion. It provides workshops to build skills and learn about the many ways to advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights.

Young Invincibles (YI) is a nonpartisan organization of young people advocating for the interests of young people. The YI mission is to amplify the voices of young adults in the political process, and to expand economic opportunity for upcoming generations by upholding the values of entrepreneurship, young adult leadership, diversity, accountability, determination, and teamwork.

Co-sponsored by UIC Pride, a student organization at UIC that strives to create a safe and welcoming space on campus for LGBTQIA+ and allied students to build community.
