Wellness Wednesdays classes sponsored by Exercise is Medicine

Campus Recreation is hosting free specialty classes during the fall semester sponsored by Exercise is Medicine to bring awareness to the benefits of regular physical activity while highlighting a specific way of moving. This semester focuses on different aspects of stretch, flexibility and increased range of motion.

Register for these free classes:

Sept. 27: Mat Pilates with Anne
11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m.: 45-minute session of flowing exercises using body weight for resistance. The movements performed will focus on improving coordination, strength, balance and posture.

Occt 11 and 25: Stretch Clinic with Jagoda
Noon-1 p.m.: 30-minute stretch and flexibility class that introduces various techniques of flexibility training designed to improve range of movement. Stay for individual one-on-one interactions with our personal trainers and physical therapy students to answer any questions about stretching, flexibility and the benefits of improving range of motion.

Nov. 15 and 29: Jazz Yoga with Em
Noon-12:45 p.m.: 45-minute yoga session. During our practice, we will unite breath with body offering a variety of poses accessible to all levels of yoga practitioners. A series of postures will be held to build strength, stability, and stamina while enjoying the smooth sounds of jazz.

All classes will be held at UIC Campus Recreation Sport & Fitness Center, 828 S Wolcott St., in Fitness Rooms 2/3.
