The UIC Women’s Leadership Symposium aims to make leadership development more accessible to women on campus and  address issues women face.
Keynote speaker is Judith Wright, peerless educator, world-class coach, lifestyles expert, inspirational speaker, best-selling author and corporate consultant. She has appeared on more than 400 radio stations and 70 TV programs including ABC’s “20/20,” “Good Morning America,” “Today,” and “Fox & Friends.” Her work has been featured in magazines and newspapers across the country including Marie Claire, FitnessHealth,  Chicago Tribune, New York Daily News, and Detroit Free Press.
Broadcast legend Merri Dee gives the luncheon address. Dee is an in-demand inspirational speaker and fierce advocate for violence prevention. Her 2013 memoir, Life Lessons on Faith, Forgiveness & Grace, details how she survived brutal child abuse, domestic violence and a murder attempt. She is a U.S. Army ambassador and in 2013, the Illinois Senate confirmed her as a member of the Human Rights Commission.
