Biography
Andrius Kazlauskas studies eye diseases that result in blindness: what causes them, why they spread and how clinicians might treat them. His lab focuses on the pathogenesis of diabetic retinopathy (a type of vision impairment associated with diabetes) and the eye’s internal defense against this disease.
He completed his postdoctoral research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle and held faculty positions at the University of Colorado and Harvard Medical School as well as an industry position at Roche.
