Scott Langenecker is associate professor of psychiatry and psychology and director of the cognitive neuroscience center in the UIC College of Medicine. He is interested in the biological mechanisms of depression and mood disorders and trying to understand why some patients respond better than others to certain medicines and styles of talk therapy, and what predicts relapse from recovery. His research projects have involved the use of imaging techniques to identify abnormalities in brain network connectivity in patients with depression.
