Former Northwestern University fundraising executive Jeff Nearhoof is new vice chancellor for development and a senior vice president of the University of Illinois Foundation.

Nearhoof was associate dean for development at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, where he helped coordinate planning activities and fundraising teams for Feinberg, the central university and affiliated hospitals.

Before joining Northwestern, he was director of development and external relations for the University of Michigan School of Music, and director of development, individual giving and external affairs for engineering at Case Western Reserve University.

He held development positions at the Lyric Opera in Cleveland and the Cleveland Ballet. He has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Bowling Green State University.
