With days getting shorter and the end of the semester getting closer, what’s the best way to maximize energy and learning abilities before and during finals?

Make time to exercise, like Eddie Harris, liberal arts and sciences, and Sebastien Beauboeuf, engineering, shown playing intramural basketball Monday in the Student Recreation Facility under the watchful eye of referee Chelsea Newton, psychology.

As New York Times science writer Gretchen Reynolds says, exercise is an “easy-to-achieve, scientifically proven way to make yourself smarter.”

Next stop: the Daley Library or the Library of the Health Sciences, open around-the-clock from 1 p.m. Dec. 2 through 4 p.m. Dec. 14.
