Greetings, UIC! The Undergraduate Student Government wishes you well on midterm examinations.

As we move into the middle of fall semester, USG has plenty of events coming up.

We will host our first Student Advocacy Week Nov. 3 to 7. The purpose of the week is to highlight student advocacy groups and promote student
involvement on campus. Our Communications and Recruitment Committee will host a Scavenger Hunt that week. Teams of two can participate. The first-place team wins a $100 UIC Bookstore gift card (per person), USG water bottle and hoodie.

I will host the “President’s Summit,” noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 5 in 302 Student Center East, to bring together our student advocacy organizations, offices and departments to discuss our shared projects and initiatives.

Our University Relations Committee can be spotted around campus distributing surveys on campus safety. Our Interpersonal Relations Committee will host a Student Organization Social from 5 to 7 p.m. November 6, Commuter Student Resource Center.

Our vice president, Brandon Gaskew, plans to launch a Pop-Up Food Pantry in November. Our Sustainability and Infrastructure Committee plans to host a town hall on topics such as the UIC Library, ACCC WiFi and new design proposals for our Lecture Centers.

For more information on any of these events, email usguic@gmail.com or visit USG in 397 Student Center East.
