Message from the Chancellor

Dear Faculty and Staff,

I write to inform you about the upcoming search for UIC’s next Vice Chancellor for Advancement and Senior Vice President of the University of Illinois Foundation. The search committee has been charged and will be co-chaired by Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Susan Poser, and Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs, Robert Barish. The committee will identify high caliber applicants and provide an opportunity to interview qualified finalists with the goal of appointing the new Vice Chancellor in the Spring of 2019. UIC, with support from the UI Foundation, has engaged Witt/Kieffer to facilitate this important search.

I am pleased to welcome James H. Moore, President and CEO of the University of Illinois Foundation, who, working with us more closely, will continue to provide valuable assistance with our advancement operations, including the ongoing success of UIC’s IGNITE campaign, during the search process.

Additionally, Bob Shepard, who most recently served as Vice President for Alumni and Development at Duke, will join our team as Special Advisor to the Chancellor and UIF President and co-manage the UIC Advancement program. Bob will spend considerable time in the Advancement Office and work directly with UIC leadership and Advancement staff.

I would like to extend the opportunity to our community to submit names of persons you feel would be qualified to meet the demands of this position. If you have suggestions, please direct them to UICadvancement@wittkieffer.com.

I look forward to your support during this important search.

Sincerely,

Michael D. Amiridis
Chancellor
