UIC’s Flames Field — home of the men’s and women’s soccer teams — was the training ground last week
for three men’s soccer national teams in Chicago to compete in the opening stage of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Teams from Mexico, Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago used the field before competition July 9 at Soldier Field.

Flames Field is a top-tier, natural-grass pitch that has served as the preferred training facility for several professional clubs and national teams. Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire and LA Galaxy, the MLS All-Stars, FC Barcelona, AC Milan, Swansea City AFC and national teams from the U.S., Mexico and Canada are some of the teams that have trained on campus over the past decade.
