Police seek suspect in off-campus armed robbery

A UIC student was the victim of an off-campus armed robbery at 9:50 a.m. April 10 near 1600 W. Roosevelt Road.

An offender approached the student and threatened to shoot him but did not display a weapon. The suspect took the student’s backpack and fled east on Roosevelt Road.

The student was not injured.

The suspect was described as a black male, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 9 inches and 155 pounds. He wore dreadlocks and black clothing.

Arrests by UIC Police

April 9: A man was arrested on a warrant at 3:20 a.m. at 1030 S. Ashland Ave.

A man was arrested for theft at 9:18 a.m. in Willowbrook, closing a case from Feb. 13.

April 10: Five men were arrested for battery at 12:28 a.m. at 1620 W. Harrison St.

April 11: A man was arrested for criminal trespass at 4:58 a.m. in the Clinical Sciences Building.

A man was arrested for retail theft at 10:22 p.m. at Marie Robinson Hall, closing a case from March 28.

A man was arrested for criminal trespass at 5:03 a.m. in the Administrative Office Building.

April 12: A man was arrested for assault at 1:43 p.m. in the College of Pharmacy.

April 13: A man was arrested for theft at 1:29 p.m. in Student Center East.

April 14: A man was arrested for criminal trespass at 8:58 a.m. in the UIC Forum.
