Arrest made in Aug. 9 armed robbery
The UIC Police/Chicago Police Department Joint Robbery Task Force has arrested a juvenile suspect in a recent robbery that occurred on campus. The arrest was made seven miles from campus on the South Side Aug. 15.
The 14-year-old suspect was identified by the victim, a UIC employee, as the offender who stole her purse at gunpoint Aug. 9 in a UIC parking lot 7, 1100 W. Harrison St. The suspect will be charged as a juvenile with armed robbery with a firearm.
UIC Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Aug. 15: A woman was arrested for aggravated battery at 1:42 p.m. at the hospital.
Aug. 16: A juvenile was arrested for aggravated battery at 9:50 a.m. at the hospital.
Aug. 18: A man was arrested for criminal trespass at 6:24 p.m. at the Clinical Sciences Building.
Aug. 19: A man was arrested on an outstanding warrant at 11:07 a.m. at the UIC Police Department.
A man was arrested for battery at 2:49 p.m. at 1038 S. Racine Ave.
Aug. 20: A man was arrested for displaying false license plates and driving with a suspended license at 5:05 p.m. at 1210 S. Union Ave.
Aug. 21: A man was arrested for aggravated battery at 3:54 a.m. at 940 S. Carpenter St.
