Sudents and employees will clean up beaches, help frame a house, dig into a community garden, walk homeless animals and more during the 7th Annual UIC Day of Service April 16.

Members of the UIC community can still sign up to volunteer at one of 31 sites.

The event, sponsored by Student Leadership Development and Volunteer Services, includes locations across the city and in several suburbs.

“We, as members of a public university in the city of Chicago, have an obligation and a duty to really give back to our surrounding communities,” said Olivia Desormeaux, a graduate student in public health and social work and graduate assistant in Student Leadership Development and Volunteer Services.
