UIC Police Officer Margaret Chiczewiski waves to the crowd from her bike at the 86th annual Bud Billiken Parade Saturday on Chicago’s South Side.

Chiczewiski was among UIC police officers who rode patrol bikes and drove squad cars in annual event, billed as the oldest and largest back-to-school parade in the country. Other members of the UIC Police force participating include Commander Eric Hersey and officers Cesar Canizales, Braulio DeAnda and Terry Williams.

“It was a phenomenal experience and opportunity to represent not only our police department, but the entire university at this historical parade,” Williams said.

“The welcoming responses from the patrons were priceless.”
