It’s time for student elections — they will be held online today and Thursday.

Positions on the ballot include student member of the Board of Trustees, Undergraduate Student Government president, USG vice president, USG assembly member and student senators on the UIC Faculty Senate. Students can also vote on a referendum asking if they support a Metra rider discount for college students.

USG and the Wellness Center will be hosting another food drive for the Pop-Up Pantry from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today in the Commuter Student Resource Center. Monetary donations can be made online.

A few weeks ago, UIC student leaders joined me and Barbara Henley, vice chancellor for student affairs, in welcoming U of I President-Designate Timothy Killeen to campus. We hosted a Q&A session where student leaders had the opportunity to hear more about Dr. Killeen’s vision for the campus.

In January, the Undergraduate Student Government unanimously supported a policy proposed by Renee Taylor, vice provost for faculty affairs, which would make professor evaluation ratings accessible to all students. The UIC Faculty Senate also approved the plan.
