Women’s tennis wins versus Bradley

The women’s tennis team glided to a 5-2 win Sunday over Bradley at XS Tennis. The Flames swept all three doubles matches and took four of six singles matches.

The Flames welcome Northern Illinois Saturday and Northern Iowa Sunday.

Jackie Altansarnai started the match in the No. 1 spot, defeating Ariel Dechter 6-1, 6-7 (2), 10-8. Ann-Sophie Hahn fell in three sets to Alejandra de Lasa, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2.

Oana Manole took a 6-3, 6-4 win against Alexa Brandt in the No. 3 position, while Melika LeBlanc bested Irinka Toidze, 6-1, 6-4.

In the No. 5 spot, Bianca Zuzu lost to Ashley Thai, 6-4, 6-1. Rachel Le Comber extended her win streak to four at the No. 6 spot, defeating Malini Wijesinghe 6-4, 6-3.

In doubles competition, Manole and Le Comber topped Thai and de Lasa 7-6 (5) at No. 1. At No. 2 doubles, Hahn and LeBlanc combined for a 7-6 (3) victory over Toidze and Dechter. Altansarnai and Zuzu took down the combination of Wijesinghe and Brandt, 6-3, in the No. 3 spot.
