Zizi Papacharissi studies the social and political consequences of new media.
Her co-edited book, “Trump and the Media,” looks at the presidential election of Donald Trump and the disruption in the news and social media.
Her book, “A Private Sphere: Democracy in Digital Age,” examines how online media redefines public-versus-private in modern democracies and sets new parameters for civic engagement.
She teaches courses on communication theory, political communication, the information society, digital democracy and communication research methods.
