The UIC Symphonic Band’s Fall Concert titled “Bring the Light! features works by Yagisawa, Zdechlik, Owens, and Maslanka. Also featured, Lawren Brianna Ware’s revitalization of composer Edmond Dédé’s “Mephisto Masqué,” as part of the Black Composer Revival Consortium.

The Symphonic Band performs works written for concert band and provides members the opportunity to participate in an outstanding ensemble. The Symphonic Band is open to all students, including non-music majors, and is designed for those who want to continue playing music in college while perusing their academic interests. The ensemble also severs music degree students who wish to develop their skills on secondary instruments and become more familiar with band repertoire. The Symphonic Band explores a diverse range of traditional and contemporary repertoire and performs two concerts per semester. The group is also open to community members. CTA Blue Line to UIC-Halsted. There are three exits from this platform. Take the far west exit with the long ramp (toward Morgan Street). There are also CTA buses (#7 and #60) that stop directly in front of our building.
