Tree Planting

Through a collaboration with Openland’s TreePlanters program, we will be planting 10 trees near the Westside Research Office Building on the west side of campus. Openlands Forestry Crew and certified TreeKeepers provides the education, organization, supplies, expertise, and quality control for a successful tree planting. UIC faculty staff and students are invited to work the full event (four hours) to dig holes, plant, mulch, and water the young trees. Our Grounds crew (Facility Management) will keep caring for the trees for the next few years while they get established and are able to thrive at UIC.

Light refreshments will be provided. Please dress appropriately (closed-toed shoes, pants, weather-appropriate wear, hat, sunblock, glasses, jackets)
