Leading the night will be our featured poet: Monica Gonzalez

• How can we use literature/academia to reclaim our own history/identity?
• How can we navigate academic spaces to learn about our history?

Monica Gonzalez is an 18 year old aspiring poet. She takes inspiration from her grandmother, who encouraged her to always be herself and find freedom in that. Monica uses poetry to express herself and her identity, and uses her work to expose the myth of reality. Though she struggles with anxiety, she finds strength in sharing her experiences with others, and vows to write her heart out regardless of what trials and tribulations she may face.
