Hannemann and Story combined to average nearly 30 points per game and led the Flames in scoring in 24 of 29 regular season contests.

“I’m happy that Katie and Rachel are getting recognition,” head coach Regina Miller said.

“They both work extremely hard and it’s nice to have that effort awarded.  They will no doubt be the backbone of our team next season.”

Hannemann was one of the league’s most improved players after boosting her scoring average by more than 10 points per game.  She ranks Top 10 in both scoring (14) and rebounding (7) and recorded 10 points or more in 22 games during the regular season.

She poured in a career-high 35 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in a comeback win over Wright State Feb. 21.  Her 35 tally is the highest point total for UIC in more than 11 years.

Story led all conference newcomers with an average of 15.6 points per game and ranked sixth overall in the league.  She is one of just five league players to record 11 20-point scoring performances, posting six in the last nine games of the regular season.

Story’s 451 points and 168 field goals rank 11th on UIC’s single-season leaderboard.
