Say ‘Congratulations!’ to your UIC grad

Expectant mothers 

UIC Parking Services has developed a new program that provides convenient parking for expectant mothers.

Students and employees who are in the third trimester of pregnancy and already have a parking permit from Parking Services can request a transfer to a closer lot.

Business challenge

Cheer on members of the UIC community as they pitch their startup ideas at the UIC Startup Challenge April 15.

The elevator pitch competition begins at 1 p.m., semifinals start at 2:30 p.m. and the finals begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Illinois Rooms, Student Center East.  The event is sponsored by the UIC Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies.


Strategic Priorities

UIC’s Strategic Priorities Committee will share its draft plans and goals at a town hall meeting April 21.

The group is addressing four areas: student experience and success; national and international impact and visibility of research; Chicago and community engagement, and entrepreneurial university.

The town hall takes place from 9 to 11 a.m. in Meeting Rooms B and C, Student Services Building.

 

Live broadcast

ESPN Deportes, ESPN’s Spanish-language sports channel, is seeking students to appear in a series of live cut-ins that will be broadcast from campus Tuesday.

Students should meet at 10:30 a.m. for the 11 a.m. to noon broadcast in the grassy area on the east side of University Hall.
