Want to use data collected from summative assessments to confirm student outcomes? Want to learn more about the importance of the validity, reliability and manageability of summative assessments? The CATE team is developing new online resources, Teaching Guides, to provide evidence-based practices, in-depth examples, and actionable steps to enhance your teaching.

In this teaching guide on Summative Assessments, you will have the opportunity to learn about summative assessments’ role in student learning, data collection and continuous quality improvements. You will be provided with guiding questions and examples as you examine your summative assessment practices through the lens of validity, reliability, manageability and authenticity.
