Construction for the Circle Interchange reconstruction project by the Illinois Department of Transportation continues on streets around the east side of campus. Extreme caution is advised when traveling through the area.

Congress Parkway between Racine Avenue and Morgan Street is scheduled to close to vehicle traffic July 7 for concrete pouring. Project managers say pedestrians will have access along the street.

Work by Commonwealth Edison on the Peoria Street Bridge and in front of the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs is scheduled to be completed by July 9. Aerial transmission lines around Peoria Street are being removed by ComEd, with tentative completion July 10.

The eastbound lane of Van Buren Street between Peoria and Halsted streets will remain closed through July 31 as AT&T continues underground construction.

Renovations continue around the Halsted, Morgan, Harrison and Peoria street bridges.
