Peter Doran – Lake Vida camp collage

Lake Vida camp, established on the icy surface during early austral summer, October 2010, in the Victoria Valley, Antarctica. The picture is looking to the northeast. The field research program retrieved lake ice cores and subsurface brine from the icy layers of the lake for microbial and geochemical studies.
