2024 Grace Holt Lecture and Celebration

Join the UIC Black studies department for our annual Grace Holt Lecture and Celebration. This event honors the tremendous work and legacy of Grace Holt, the founder and first director of the department. It also serves to engage our community of faculty, staff, students and alumni with emerging scholars in Black studies and provide a space to reconnect and network.

The awards presentation, keynote lecture and Q&A will be in-person and live-streamed. Sign language and live captioning will be provided. All attendees are asked to wear masks. HEPA filters will be provided by Clean Air Club. For questions or access requests, please email blst@uic.edu. An in-person reception will follow the lecture and Q&A.

The 2024 Grace Holt Celebration is co-sponsored by the UIC Racialized Body Cluster, Black Cultural Center, Disability Cultural Center and the department of gender and women’s studies.
