In honor of the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law’s 27th annual Belle R. & Joseph H. Braun Memorial Symposium and its focus on environmental justice and human rights, we’re introducing sustainable conferencing, and you’re invited.

What is sustainable conferencing?

  • The opportunity to attend in-person at our livestream watch party or via Zoom.
  • Limited paper use for symposium materials.
  • Lunch provided by locally sourced catering.
  • All in-person attendees will receive a swag bag that’s good for the environment.

This year’s theme, Environmental Justice and Human Rights in the Americas and the Caribbean, will examine the recognition of the human right to a healthy environment, and the protection of environmental human rights in the Americas and the Caribbean. Expert panelists will delve into different ways advocates have engaged in environmental human rights advocacy through Inter-American Human Rights litigation and with the Escazú Agreement.

There will also be opportunities for networking, photo fun and more. Register for free to attend.
