Dessert Discussion Series: Coming Out/Inviting In

Date / Time

October 17, 2018

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Please join us in the Gender and Sexuality Center (GSC) in the Behavioral Sciences Building (BSB) Room 183 for our October Dessert Discussion focusing on sharing stories about navigating the “coming out” and “inviting in” process of LGBTQIA+ identities. Bring your lunch and we will serve dessert, coffee and tea. This event is free. To RSVP and for more details, please click here.

“Coming out” is a phrase used to symbolically describe the many ways that LGBTQIA+ folks may disclose their sexual orientation  or gender identity. “Inviting in” is another way of defining the identity disclosure process.

The Dessert Discussion Series is a monthly gathering that features dialogue around diverse themes related to the multiple identities of the LGBTQIA+ communities. Intentional space is created for folks to share their experiences, learn from each other and build community.

For disability accommodations, please contact the GSC at lgbtqa@uic.edu or (312) 413-8619. The GSC is wheelchair accessible.
