Douglass Day 2024

Date / Time

February 14, 2024

11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Join us as we honor Frederick Douglass for Douglass Day 2024!

Douglass Day is an annual program that marks the birth of Frederick Douglass. Each year, thousands of people help create new and freely available resources for learning about Black history. This year, we focus on the correspondence of Frederick Douglass.

We will join others across the country on Wednesday, Feb. 14, to expand access to the writings of this remarkable abolitionist and social reformer. Meet us at the Daley Library in the IDEA Commons Classroom A from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drop in at any time and stay for as long as your schedule allows. Lunch will be provided in room I-470. We hope you join us for this important work and to celebrate Black History Month!

Come and bring a friend! Register for the event.

This event is co-sponsored by UIC Black Studies, Sociology, History and the University Library.
