The University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System is pleased to inform our university community about a health care initiative where UI Health has partnered with the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois to explore our intentions to enhance, improve, upgrade and engage health care professionals and the community at large about the importance of focusing on how chronic kidney disease is impacting communities of color.
On Tuesday, June 27, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois will host their “Ending Disparities in Illinois Summit” in Student Center West, Michelle Thompson Conference Rooms. Co-chairs Phyllis P. Hayes, assistant vice chancellor for external engagement, UI Health, and Emily Cooper, vice president of programs, Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, are excited to invite our university community and alumni to this event. The goal of this summit is to convene leaders of diverse health care stakeholders to develop a roadmap for communities of color to seek improvements with early detection, diagnosis and management of chronic kidney disease.
