“Enhancing Community Awareness of and Participation in Reducing Food Insecurities and Wastage,” presented by Ning Ai, Associate Professor of Urban Planning and Policy; Institute for Environmental Science and Policy

Tuesday, April 6th. 12:30pm – 1:30pm.

This talk discusses the missed opportunities for local and regional stakeholders to strategize and organize solutions to address intertwined challenges of food insecurities and wastage. Professor Ai will report on the progressive research supported by the Civic Engagement Research Award. Motivated by the general lack of community awareness about the extent and consequences of food consumption and disposal behaviors, this research develops community-specific planning references and an interactive web-based data dashboard for 77 Chicago communities.
