Join the Study Abroad Office and Pamela Meharry to learn about the Global Maternal and Child Health in Rwanda study abroad program being offered this summer.

The course will provide students with an introduction to global health and a focus on maternal-child health in sub-Saharan Africa. Students will be able to discuss and examine current issues affecting pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and infants in Africa. The course also includes opportunities for maternal-child health clinical observations (and hands-on activities for those who have passed a maternity course) in Kigali’s primary teaching hospital and training in the skills lab using the World Health Organization’s interventions with Rwandan midwives. Another new addition to the 2024 program is to learn about the impacts of climate change on maternal-child health populations using the listen and learn programs by experts through USAID. The three-week study abroad program is situated in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda, in East Africa. Visit the program’s webpage to learn more and apply.

The info session will take place over Zoom.
