The UIC Department of History is hosting the 2024 Illinois Academic Decathlon State Championship for high school students in Illinois. The Academic Decathlon State Championship brings more than 125 high school juniors and seniors to UIC, most of whom have never visited before. Throughout the day, the high school students will compete in subjects such as speech, interview, art, economics, literature, math, music, science and social sciences for the chance to represent Illinois at the National Championships in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
UIC students and faculty are volunteering to serve as judges, timekeepers and proctors for various sessions during the competition. All volunteers receive an UIC Department of History T-shirt.
