National First-Generation College Student Day

The UIC Study Abroad Office, College of Education, and New Student and Family Programs are celebrating UIC’s first-generation college students Nov. 7. Come learn about the inaugural cohort of the First Year Flames Abroad program who studied in Costa Rica this summer, including a chance to sample Costa Rican coffee and chocolate.

Event schedule:

• 1-2 p.m. Expo: Featuring students’ photo essays of their experience in Cota Rica as well as a Costa Rican coffee and chocolate tasting.
• 2-3 p.m. Student Panel: Participants of the First Year Flames Abroad Costa Rica study abroad program will share their experiences studying abroad as a first-generation college student.
