Date / Time

February 16, 2021

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

In collaboration with the Columbia University School of Nursing, the UIC College of Nursing is delighted to present this special event.

Lauren Underwood, MSN/MPH, RN, FAAN, is one of only three nurses currently serving in the U.S. House of Representatives, where she represents Illinois’ 14th District. She has become known for her commitment to affordable, accessible and comprehensive health care for all Americans. Since her reelection in 2020, she is back to work proving the value of a nurse’s voice in shaping public policy. At this event, she’ll discuss her views on the most pressing legislative priorities, the impact of federal policies on nursing practice, and how nurses around the nation can play a role in building a more perfect health care system for all.

Rep. Underwood will be interviewed by:

Charles Yingling, UIC DNP ’12, UIC MS ’05, FNP-BC, FAANP, Associate Dean for Practice and Partnerships, University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing

Patricia W. Stone, PhD, RN, FAAN, Centennial Professor of Health Policy, Columbia University School of Nursing
