Odehmenan Health Equity Speaker Series: Community-based participatory research with Arab Americans to develop a violence prevention program in Chicago

Sarah Abboud, PhD, RN and assistant professor in the College of Nursing at UIC, will talk about how she conducts community-based participatory research with Arab Americans in Chicago, a historically and systematically marginalized and invisible population. She will also discuss the strengths and challenges of community-based participatory research, especially in the context of a stigmatized topic such as gender-based violence. The talk will take place in Suite 220 of the UIC Library of Health Sciences.
